1st Digital Migration and Spectrum Policy Summit
The Summit will be the first event specifically devoted to the African continent’s particular issues related to the migration from analogue to digital broadcasting. It will examine the need to recast thinking on public sector spectrum management in light of liberalization, increased demand for spectrum and the need to deploy broadband networks for rural and underserved areas. Key experts and stakeholders will make presentations at the Summit to provide insights, experiences, and generate discussions on the critical aspects of digital migration and spectrum management. |

East African Consultations on ITRs and EAIGF
ATU in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communications, Kenya are organizing a one day consultative session on World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT-12) on International Telecommunications Regulations (ITRs) to coincide with the one-day annual East African Internet Governance Forum (EAIGF). The events which will be attended by Governments and Regulators in East Africa will provide them with an opportunity to participate and contribute to the two sessions and particularly to the WCIT-12 ITR session. |

3rd African Group Preparatory Meeting for WTSA-12 and WCIT-12

Harmonized Calculation Method (HCM) for Africa Workshop

Countries are encouraged to prepare an activity within their countries on the selected theme and thereafter send a report to ATU General Secretariat
for reporting to the next Council meeting in May 2013. |

1st African Group Preparatory Meeting for WRC-15
The meeting planned for February 2013 is meant to bring together the African Group to take stock of the results of the 1st Conference Preparatory Meeting (CPM15) held in Geneva from 20-21 February, 2012 that prepared the agenda for the next Radiocommunication Conference due in 2015. This will be the 1st meeting of the Group to prepare the African Common Proposals based on the ITU agenda for the next conference. |
