1ST EXTRA-ORDINARY SESSION OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL,
( NAIROBI, KENYA 22 -24 JANUARY, 2002)

An extra-ordinary meeting of the Administrative Council was held to discuss strategies for harnessing common positions at international conferences. This will involve establishing a viable consultative process with various stakeholders but primarily with the Regional Economic Groupings (REC's).

When fully developed, the strategy should strengthen the region's capacity and position in dealing with or coordinating matters in the global arena. Within the context of the telecommunications sector, the main areas of focus are : development, standardization and radiocommunucations. Full Article
