3rd AFRICAN TELECOM SUMMIT 2001

The African Telecommunications Union (ATU) will be co- hosting the 3rd African Telecommunications Summit, Accra ,Ghana 27- 29 March 2001. The theme is " Universal Access and ICT in the Africa: Strategies for Effective Development".

As in the past, the summit is expected to attract wide participation including African Ministers responsible for telecommunications, Chief Executive Officers of major telecommunications companies and regulatory entities in Africa, senior advisors from ATU ,as well as institutions such as the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Organisation of African Unity (OAU).

The main objective of the summit is to provide a forum for African and non-African experts and practitioners in the elecommunications industry to deliberate on practical solutions to improve telecommunications delivery in Africa including related aspects such as, project financing, policy and regulation.
